On your next Athens visit, you may want to stay at Electra Metropolis.
The former Ministry of Education home is now a five-star hotel.
The Mitropoleos Street location is near Syntagma Square and the Ermou shopping district.

The hotel’s 216 suites and rooms are modern and chic. They feature dark wooden furniture, flat-screen TVs, floor-to-ceiling windows and paintings of The Acropolis.

Amenities include cable television, high-speed Wifi and Korres bath products (shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner and hand soap), a heated indoor pool, outdoor rooftop pool and state-of-the-art gym.

Spacious bathrooms make you feel like you are in a spa. Prepare for your Acropolis visit at the white square vessel sink. Wash up under a ran forest shower head surrounded by creme-colored marble walls and matching floors.

After washing up, press a button on the wall to get your room cleaned! A light on your door alerts housekeeping.
On your way to breakfast, take a stroll around the hotel and check out the fabulous artwork placed throughout the hotel. One example: a piece by noted Greek artist Alekos Fassianos that depicts birds flying with an Aegean blue sky in the background.

Complimentary breakfast is served on the 10th floor Rooftop Garden (which serves as a Restaurant for later meals) with an Acropolis view. A lushly landscaped garden surrounds the open-air terrace as soft instrumental background music plays.

Partake in fresh fruit, hearty bread, grilled mushrooms, scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, sausage, Greek salad, various cheeses. You can load up on carbs before traipsing around Athens. Try the grilled potatoes, waffles, pancakes, croissants, bagels or Gluten-free pastries!

On the Rooftop Garden’s floor, a white circle says “Selfie Spot”.
There, you will get a selfie with the Parthenon in the background before heading up to The Acropolis!

That’s the Lowdown!
