Monday, April 18, 2016!
That’s the deadline to file your taxes for 2015.
If you didn’t finish your taxes on time, I hope you filed for an extension. This is what it looked like at the 24-hour post office in mid-Manhattan Monday night around 10PM hundreds of folks lined up just in time to make the deadline and get that all-important postmark that says April 18th.
If you didn’t file for an extension –and you owe Uncle Sam some tax money, you could get hit with a failure-to-file penalty.
The penalty is usually 5% of the unpaid taxes pro-rates for every month that you wait to finally file.
Here’s some advice. Get those taxes done ASAP.
That’s the Lowdown!
