Remembering David Bowie

Bowie Flowers

This is what it looked like Monday outside David Bowie’s New York City apartment located on Lafayette Street.

Fans were dropping off flowers as part of a makeshift memorial. It was their way of paying homage after they learned the legendary musician had passed away.

Published reports say the rocker passed away Sunday after an 18-month battle with cancer. This news came as a surprise to many who had no idea Bowie was sick.

Some may have gotten a hint after he released a video taped while lying in his bed. The video served to promote his new album , “Blackstar.” The album was released on Friday, which was Bowie’s last birthday.

Who can forget the classic Bowie songs: “Young Americans,” “Fame”, “Let’s Dance”, “Space Oddity” and “Under Pressure”?

Take a look at Bowie performing “Let’s Dance” in this YouTube Clip:

The Grammy Award winner is survived his supermodel widow, Iman.

He is also survived by two children, Duncan Jones and Alexandria Zahra Jones.

Bowie was 69.

That’s the Lowdown!
