Bike To Work Week: The Lowdown

Today kicks off National Bike to Work Week.

It’s part of an effort to get more Americans to travel to work on two wheels during May, recognized as National Bike Month.

It’s estimated that bicycle commuting has increased by more than 60% over the last 16 years.

The League  of American Bicyclists says biking is a great way to get healthy.

Live strong says a 150 pound person biking 12 to 14 miles per hour can burn almost 200 calories in 20 minutes.

Of course, if you jump on a bike rather than hopping into your car you will save money on gas and reduce emissions.

So what are you waiting for?

Jump on a bike –and don’t forget your helmet!

That’s the Lowdown!
