Comedian Bill Cosby is no longer laughing now that he is facing new aggravated assault charges stemming from old accusations.
The Montgomery County District Attorneys Office in Pennsylvania issued a warrant for his arrest today.
Published reports say the 78 year-old comedian appeared today in a Pennsylvania court.
“The Cosby Show” star is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Costand, a Temple University employee, in 2004 at his Philadelphia-area home, located at 8210 New Second Street in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania.
In an affidavit of probable cause issued by the District Attorneys’ Office, Cosby allegedly admitted in a phone conversation with Andrea Costand’s mother that he fondled the victim’s breasts and digitally penetrated her.
Cosby’s lawyers say they plan to vigorously defend their client.
Sources say Cosby was released on a one million dollar bail.
If convicted, Cosby could face five to 10 years behind bars.
That’s the Lowdown!
