New York City Gay Pride Parade 2018: The Lowdown!

Millions of people in New York City celebrated Gay Pride on the last Sunday in June.

The 2018 Pride Parade marked the 49th year of the event. This year’s theme: Defiantly Different.

Tennis legend Billie Jean King served as this year’s Grand Marshall.

Other notables made appearances. Among them:  New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, New York Senator Chuck Schumer and New York State Gubernatorial Candidate Cynthia Nixon.

It is estimated that nearly 50,000 people participated in the march. Millions watched from the sidelines.
