If you smoke marijuana, you are not alone.
Results of a new survey show over the past year marijuana use rose from four percent of adults in the United States to nearly 10 percent.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) conducted the national surveys.
The NIAAA director says the surveys show marijuana use in the US has risen rapidly over the past 10 years and about 3 in 10 people who smoke marijuana meet criteria for addiction.
Nearly 80,000 people were interviewed about their marijuana use during surveys conducted from 2001-2002 and 2012-2013 surveys.
That’s the Lowdown.
